The Youth “Leap” Membership is a leading model of public–private partnership aimed at addressing youth employment challenges. Participating companies utilize their own human and material resources to provide youth with work experience, internships, and training opportunities, while the government supports the program’s operation through financial assistance and recruitment promotion.
Launched in 2021 with 11 companies, including Samsung Electronics, POSCO, SK hynix, and the Lotte Group, the Membership has now expanded significantly to 140 participating companies with the addition of 11 new members today.
At the event, case presentations were delivered by newly enrolled company LG Uplus and outstanding activity company Kakao. LG Uplus supports youth employment through programs such as the “Eureka Software Training Program,” a practical information technology (IT) talent development initiative. Kakao operates the “Kakao Tech Campus,” which supports young people in growing into software developers by offering team project opportunities led by instructors with extensive industry experience.
At the ceremony, Young-mi Lim, Director General for Employment Policy, stated, “I sincerely thank the member companies that have taken the lead in various employment support activities with the belief that ‘youth are the future of the Republic of Korea.’” She added, “We ask for your continued active support so that the potential of each and every young person can contribute to corporate growth and industrial innovation.”
