On April 1, Minister of Employment and Labor Moon-soo Kim signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Google Korea at its Gangnam office to enhance AI competencies among young job seekers. During the event, Minister Kim awarded Google Korea with the "Youth Leap Membership" certificate, recognizing the company's commitment to socially responsible initiatives for employing the youth.

Google Korea becomes the 129th partner in the Youth Leap Membership program, which began in 2021 with 11 companies including Samsung Electronics.

As part of the agreement, Google Korea will provide its self-developed "Google AI Essentials" course for 50,000 young individuals. The MOEL will promote course access through government-run platforms, including 120 University Job Centers, 100 Employment Centers, and 81 Youth Cafes, and will offer additional career support services.

The partnership will also include AI special lectures under the "Gemini Academy," office tours, and mentorship sessions with current employees to support youth career exploration.

Google Korea President Kyung-hoon Kim stated, "We are honored to contribute to Korea’s development of AI talents. We hope this collaboration will make a meaningful impact on the future of Korean youth."

Minister Kim emphasized, "As AI skills become increasingly fundamental to employment, this partnership with Google Korea merits great significance. We aim to create a robust foundation for our youth in the AI era by combining Google's technical expertise with the MOEL’s administrative capabilities."
