The Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) held a meeting at Korea Press Center on July 16th (Thu.) to promote subsidiary-type standard workplaces for the disabled. The meeting, which was intended to increase the establishment of subsidiary-type standard workplaces for the disabled by large companies, was presided over by Minister Lee Ki-kweon and joined by ten executives from affiliates of mutual investment limited conglomerates and three CEOs of subsidiary-type standard workplaces for the disabled. Minister Lee stressed, "Large companies' subsidiary-type standard workplaces for the disabled are a great employment model that can drastically expand employment for people with disabilities in Korea." "The government will provide support in various ways to increase the number of subsidiary-type standard workplaces for the disabled," he said, "I hope conglomerates which have not established such a workplace yet will show more interest and participate actively."
