At its third meeting of this year held at Korea Press Center in Seoul on the morning of October 25th, the Employment Policy Council, chaired by the Minister of Employment and Labor, deliberated and decided on a (draft) plan to reform the vocational skills development training system to prepare for the fourth industrial revolution.

Employment and Labor Minister Lee Ki-kweon stressed at the meeting, "The plan to reform the vocational skills development training system is an essential key needed to move towards an intelligent information society and will serve as a cushion against an employment shock that will be brought on by the fourth industrial revolution."


He also said, "By innovating the vocational skills development training system, we will be able to make training more responsive to market and industry needs, to reorganize the training market to focus on high-performance, high-quality training and to largely expand training in new industries preferred by young people, which is expected to help reduce youth unemployment."
